GROWTH EVALUATION OF CUCUMIS SATIVUS L. (CUCUMBER PLANT) IN ARSENIC AND CHROMIUM TREATED SOILS

Evaluation of the growth Cucumis sativus in arsenic (As) and chromium (Cr) treatedsoils was carried out. Parameters measured were germination, plant height, number ofleaves, relative water content total chlorophyll. The concentrations metalsolutions applied 0, 30, 60, 120 240 ppm saltsseparately. study conducted as potted field experiment. treatments werereplicated four times. Three days after planting (DAP), C. seeds germinated inall soil treatments. highest percentage germination obtained controltreatments 15 DAP. metal depressed germination. Similarly, plantheight significantly by As Cr (?=0.05). Plant heightvalues recorded for 24.1% 36.5% theirrespective values control.
